If you have a strong consumer service focused background (B2C) and you’d enjoy a dynamic leadership Chief Operating Officer role, in a premier multi-location large veterinary animal care organization in the San Francisco Bay area -- known for their outstanding high touch customer service and the very latest in technology, then we very much want to hear from you!!

Our goal is to be the preeminent animal care organization in the San Francisco Bay area! We're looking to add new services, expand our "brand" and achieve revenues of $100mm+ in the next 5-7 years. We are a leading well-established, multi-location, and client focused 24/7 veterinary animal care organization (400 + employees, 75% hourly non-exempt, 25% professionals).

Reporting directly to and collaborating closely with the Managing Partners, the Chief Operating Officer will work daily with passionate smart and very customer focused staff and professionals all within a wonderful “feel good” mission driven environment!! (9 direct reports). The COO will lead multiple strategic initiatives and some of the KEY YEAR ONE INITIATIVES INCLUDE:
• Drive merger and acquisition activity
• Mentor, develop and build upon Branch Operations Managers core abilities to support growth and optimize productivity and profitability
• Drive the creative marketing, branding and business development vision
• Scaling efforts, identifying resources and infrastructure needs

THE IDEAL COO:
• A consumer services (B2C) with multiple locations industry background, a strategic thinker, an inspiring leader and thought partner who can work effectively with the Leadership team to help plan and implement strategic priorities as well as create and manage 5-10 year growth plans.
• Will develop and foster positive, open and clear communication processes to ensure all program objectives and priorities are communicated to all team members ensuring buy-in, compliance and implementation.
• Comfortable with more lab coats than corporate suits! And overseeing operational and business activities in all SF Bay area locations, traveling to all sites as appropriate.
• Ensures the organization continues to achieve revenue and profitability goals while maintaining high quality customer service and veterinary excellence.
• Utilize your well-rounded and deep operations experience as well as your knowledge of technology, finance, human resources, business development and marketing.

LOCATION: San Francisco Bay area. We are representing this position exclusively.

REQUIREMENTS:
You have a consumer services, multi-location background along with a strong history of translating vision and mission into operating goals and achievement of strategic objectives. You’re a strong collaborator, motivator and influential business partner across all functional teams, and can guide an organization through rapid growth, resulting in optimal profitability.
To accelerate your effectiveness and impact you should have:

• A Master’s Degree or equivalent in a relevant field (MBA, MPH) OR a Bachelor’s Degree, with a minimum of seven years in an equivalent position.
• Comprehensive senior operations management experience within a large individual location or overseeing multiple locations for a consumer focused service organization or business unit with minimum annual revenues of $40 mm plus and 200 ++ employees. (24/7 operation experience is a plus).
• Your recent Industry experience must include a strong consumer customer service focus, that includes interaction with the public such as:
o Retail, Grocery store operations, office supply and printing services;
Hotel, Hospitality, Winery; Healthcare and wellness – fitness / health club, medical clinics, physician and dental offices, hospitals, practice management; Veterinary care, animal shelter; Solar energy (consumer); Non-profits; Financial services – banking, leasing; Auto rental agency; Event planning- sports, etcetera
• Ability to ensure that all organizational activities and operations are completed in compliance with local, state/federal regulations, as well as standards and laws governing veterinary healthcare operations.
• Strong communicator possessing a high degree of creativity and a collaborative style of management that values the input of others.
• See and articulate the big picture. Convey strategic perspective and coordinate multiple departments, groups, and locations to work together to achieve objectives.
• Demonstrate a high sense of self-motivation, strong sense of ownership, and instill a culture of accountability.
• You possess an entrepreneurial spirit, are flexible, thrive in fast paced environments and have an involved “roll up your sleeves” mentality.
• Possess analytic and quantitative skills, with an ability to “think outside of the box”.
• Demonstrate time management and project management skills that will keep objectives, plans and tasks organized and on track.
• Ability to attract, mentor and develop exceptional results-oriented talent.
• Reliable transportation, valid CA DL and appropriate insurance.
