The company sells into a North American reseller channel with an exciting list of clients that includes 4 letter call stations, NBA, NFL, major entertainment companies, corporations and large universities. Products and solutions focus on video and digital media workflows, storage, IP video distribution, projection and other key video-based solutions.

The position is based in northern San Rafael, CA (Terra Linda area.)
Local candidates only please, within daily commuting distance; must be US Citizen or have "Green Card" permanent residency legal work status.

The Senior Accountant is responsible for assisting the Controller in analyzing and preparing financial data for accurate and timely month-end close in accordance with GAAP, including preparing journal entries, conducting account analyses, performing bank reconciliations, administering and maintaining fixed asset schedule/depreciation schedules and cash transactions.

Major Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation of the monthly financial statements consistent with US GAAP, and monthly financial reporting package, includes heavy G/L reconciliations.
Assist in the preparation and entry of monthly journal entries
Communicate with different departments to gather necessary documentations and information necessary for month-end close
Assist with monthly commission reports.
Administration and maintenance of fixed assets and depreciation
Preparation of property tax (571L) returns and quarterly sales tax return
Assist with writing up and maintaining policies and procedures
Assist with miscellaneous HR duties
Preparation of various reports for Vendors.

Minimum Requirements

BA/BS in Accounting/Finance, or equivalent work experience and knowledge
Minimum 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting with a solid understanding of GAAP compliance.
Proficiency in NetSuite accounting software is preferred, or similar ERP software
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
Superior analytical skills with the ability to resolve issues and develop new processes when necessary.
Strong systems/software skills, with the ability to trace transactions through various systems to ensure appropriate interface with the financial results.
Excellent interpersonal skills including strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees. Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm. Show great attention to detail.
Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word)
