This position is based at their SF South Bay location -approximately 100 employees.

As the Assistant Operations Manager you will be responsible for the smooth overall functioning of this branch location during your shifts as well as taking the lead on various assigned projects. The Assistant Operations Manager is mentored by, reports to and collaborates very closely with the Branch Operations Manager. The ideal operations manager enjoys a busy dynamic fluid environment and is a resourceful energetic and customer service oriented individual with excellent problem solving and decision making skills. The Assistant Operations Manager focuses on ensuring:
• Outstanding ongoing customer service. Resolves issues and constantly seeks ways to improve overall client satisfaction.
• Safety and daily smooth shift operations workflow. Helps develop and implement best practices.
• Inventory management accuracy. Resolves and assures availability of all needed supplies.
• Appropriate staffing for the shift. Adjusts and makes last minute changes as needed.
• Provides daily supervisory employee coaching/feedback, training, onboarding, performance evaluations and stays within target labor costs.
• Provides budget assistance and research regarding capital expenditures.
• Resolution of any equipment and technology issues during the shift.
• Leads projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum of four plus years of relevant operations supervisor or store /department/branch manager experience within a consumer services/products focused company OR three plus years in a supervisory operations role within a veterinary animal care facility with 25+ employees. (24/7 or 14/7 operation experience is a plus).
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Preferred industry experience includes those with a strong consumer customer service focus, and ongoing interaction with the public including:
o Retail store, grocery store, home improvement store operations management;
o CPG, food/wine, hospitality, consumer products manufacturing;
o Healthcare, hospital, fitness and wellness related
o Veterinary care, animal shelter;
o Financial services - branch manager etcetera;
o Auto/car rental agency management;
• REQUIRES strong customer service experience. (Use of metrics/surveys a plus).
• Experience with developing, managing and directing teams.
• Experience with providing appropriate staffing for shifts, as well as training, mentoring, discipline and ongoing development of staff. (24/7 operations experience a plus).
• Experience with managing to budgets and customer billing a plus.
• Experience with inventory and strategic ordering.
• Requires excellent decision making and problem solving skills. Comfort level with working with and speaking to all levels within an organization (professionals, technicians, customer service, administrative etcetera).
• Must have a passion for animal care and well-being.
• MS Office skills required including proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
• MUST have flexibility to work a varied shift (weekdays, afternoons-evenings, weekends).
• Reliable transportation, valid CA DL and appropriate insurance.
