Repair Center Manager - Electronics

The Repair Center Manager is responsible for overseeing all Repair Center and Post-Manufacturing activities. The Repair Center Manager will ensure the team adheres to safe and timely delivery of testing, diagnosis, repair, as well as post-manufacturing assembly and sub-assembly. The Manager will oversee and coordinate the work of Repair Technicians and Manufacturing Production Specialists in accordance with company policies, product requirements, quality standards, and production schedules. Focuses on productivity, improvement, and cost reduction activities to better support Value Add Service Center and Return & Inventory goals.

Primary Responsibilities
• Manages a team of 5 +/- non-exempt employees who support the Manufacturing and Repair activities; Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and all applicable laws and regulations
• Provide daily assignment, training, motivation and support on an ongoing basis; responsible for assuring necessary training, support, and guidance is provided to team members
• Responsible for regular reporting of Repair Center metrics including but not limited to: reasons for returns, analysis by customer, supplier, product, in warranty, out of warranty, costs, scrap and defect types
• Responsible for the upkeep and oversight of KPI’s
• Serves as a member of the Company’s ISO9001 Internal Audit Team
• Responsible for all aspects of Repair Center processing including analyzing and improving the existing tools to meet the business needs
• Maintain, review and update processes and process documentation on a regular basis; Creating new processes and documents as required
• Supports and enforces safety initiatives and follows all safety guidelines and company standards
• Work closely with Product Managers, Quality department and others to analyze data and identify appropriate corrective actions for product and process improvement and ISO9001 Quality Management System compliance. Responsible for working through the corrective action to close out issues, communicate trend analysis i.e. supplier performance, customer complaints, internal audit findings and product failure trends. Work close with internal cross functional departments, customers and suppliers to identify root cause and corrective actions, as applicable
• Work closely and coordinate with procurement to maintain satisfactory levels of raw materials to meet production objectives and when inventory levels drop below production needs.
• Serves as company’s Chairperson for managing company Customer Experience Review (CER) meetings and assisting in identifying customer facing issues and solutions that eliminate known problems.
• Oversee inventory management of returned product and process inventory transactions
• Responsible for improving Operations process flow improvements relating to Manufacturing and Repair Center Activities

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Bachelor’s/Associates Degree in Electronics, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, OR equivalent experience
• 7-10 year of related experience in production, handling, reverse logistics, operations, quality and product returns -- electronics test engineering management could also relate
• Established background in electronics and/ or computer industries; audio product knowledge a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must have in depth knowledge of Repair processes and strong understanding of how to trouble shoot product failures to documented specifications
• Experiences and able to read blueprints, drawings, schematics, bill of material and other design documentation in support of product repair
• Preferred J-Std-001 knowledge, or Inspection level training to IPC-A-610 and WHMA-A-IPC-620 workmanship standards
• Must be highly proficient in MS Office Suite (Such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Must possess intermediate to advanced level knowledge and experience with ERP systems (such as NetSuite)
• Previous project and personnel management experience required
• Must be able to travel domestically as required to support the business need (approximately up to 10% of the time)
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with Executive Level Management, Customers, and Suppliers
• Demonstrated in depth knowledge of the Corrective and Preventive Action process; including 8D problem solving and understanding root cause analysis
• Previous experience working in ISO9001 environment, LEAN manufacturing, Six Sigma or DMAIC principles or other Continuous Improvement methodology
• Proven experience establishing manufacturing control tools including pFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flows in support of establishing controlled and improving processes. This is essential in support of partnering with suppliers in process improvements
